We are working to respond to our ELC and Childcare families, and staff needs, as we sail the uncharted waters of this COVID-19 virus. Our goal is to remain open for families who continue to come, support families that have decided to keep their children home and keep our teachers employed. We are proposing some ideas that we are hoping will support everyone in this unusual situation that we all find ourselves in.
We are preparing work from home packets and online learning as well as creative ways to combine classes.
We would like to propose the following:
- We will be combining classes, sometimes with childcare kids, to give the best experience to the kids that remain at school.
- Monday pick-up of lessons and art projects for the week for our students. We would like to do a drive-by pickup, at a set time, where we would have a station in the parking lot where you could drive-by and we would hand a bag of curriculum and art projects for the week. (Will also still be available for pick up in church office) We will prep lessons for all our students. If you do not want the lessons, please let us know so we can save resources.
- Weekly contact with families to pray for them and teachers will touch base with each of the students.
- Online videos of stories and chapel time for families as well as and websites that can be accessed at home for learning. Students can also send videos and pictures of their work that they are working on.
In light of all the information above and the current situation, we would like to know by this afternoon if you are able to support the continuation of our program by committing to pay either all or a portion of tuition for the months of April and May.
We will be presenting a plan at our church council this evening.
I am sending this through email and Remind. If you are NOT getting Remind messages from your teacher, please let us know as this is the main form of contact for our teachers.
